Seems to me that the Tube Screamer can't do the cleaner settings like the Boss does but the the BD-2 doesn't have as much overdrive either. Boss describe the BD-2 driver as a pedal which is meant to give the type of warm emotive and overdrive distortion basically reserved for a 30 year old tube, a crunchy yet creamy tone combined with blues guitar. and what is the difference in the 3 knob tube screamer and the 4 Reviews: VS. It’s no wonder then that Boss have their own Tube Screamer style pedal, named the Blues Driver. Tube Screamer, Blues Driver, Tube Screamer / Overdrive Pedal Demo: Ibanez TS9 vs Boss SD1 vs TC Electronics MojoMojo - Duration. I'm considering buying an MJM Phantom or JHS Morning Glory. I use more than one because I keep them at low gain except for the TS This way I can combine them and really get over the top if thats what I want to do. Just wondering if anyone can describe the differences and similarities blues driver vs tube screamer between these two pedal types. The Blues Driver will cut thru a little more and has overtones that almost make me think it's like a classic fuzztone subtly blended into a Tube Screamer. I've been looking at both the Boss Blues Driver and the Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer. I played the TS9 before to test it out and I liked the clean. The Tube Screamer has a pronounced mid boost and gets dirty more quickly.
